The
goal of this research is to understand the role of periosteum in the
phenomenon of long bone straightening associated with mal-united fractures
and abnormal intrauterine positions in children. This involves performing
finite element analysis and conducting in vivo experiments to determine
the mechanobiological effect of mechanical strain on mesenchymal cell
differentiation and osteoclast recruitment in the cambium layer of periosteum. |
